Birdwatching at Soaring Eagle Wetland
Hey there, fellow nature lovers! If you’re looking for a great spot to see some birds, then you need to check out Soaring Eagle Wetland. It’s located in Julian, right across the street from the Bald Eagle Wildlife Preserve
I recently went there on a cloudy afternoon and saw some amazing birds. There was a light rain falling, but it didn't seem to bother the birds at all.
The Birds of Soaring Eagle Wetland
I saw a variety of birds during my visit, including:
Tree Swallows: These beautiful blue and white birds were everywhere. I even saw one peeking its head out of a birdhouse.
Red-winged Blackbirds: These striking black birds with bright red and yellow shoulder patches are a common sight in wetlands. I managed to get a great shot of one perched on a branch.
Baltimore Orioles: I was thrilled to spot a Baltimore Oriole. They are known for their brilliant orange and black plumage and are always a treat to see.
Eastern Bluebirds: I also saw a lovely Eastern Bluebird with its bright blue back and rusty-red breast.
Cedar Waxwings: These elegant birds have a distinctive crest and silky plumage. I captured a shot of one amidst the greenery.
