Fishing Tips and Tricks ???
Late August gave us nearly ideal weather to be out by the water—sitting right around 79 degrees with low humidity. The goal was simple: test out a jerkbait, capture some good catches on camera, and enjoy the day. Of course, fishing rarely goes completely according to script, and murky water had other plans.
Things got chaotic quickly thanks to every baitcaster user's worst nightmare. A snag in the thick weeds caused an aggressive spool overrun that completely spiderwebbed the line, putting that setup out of commission until it could be respooled. After switching rods, the next move was tying on a 1/4-ounce bright spinnerbait with a rooster tail, hoping the flash and vivid color would cut through the cloudy conditions.
Unfortunately, the fish just weren't biting. Neither the jerkbait nor the bright rooster tail produced a strike, leaving the day without a single catch to show for the effort. Murky water presents a tough puzzle, especially when balancing lure vibration, silhouette, and presentation speed against poor visibility.
