Love is in the Air (and the Trees!) 🕊️💕

Caught a rare, intimate glimpse of nature in action today! These two Mourning Doves were spotted in the middle of their delicate mating ritual.

While these birds are known for their soft, mournful coos, springtime brings out their more active side. You can see the male carefully balancing with fluttering wings—a true test of coordination and persistence!

Did You Know?

*Life Partners:** Mourning Doves are primarily monogamous and often stay with the same mate for many seasons.

*Teamwork:** Once they successfully pair up, they’ll work together to build a nest, with the male bringing the twigs and the female doing the "interior design."

*The "Cloacal Kiss":** Unlike mammals, birds have a very brief physical connection (often just a few seconds) to transfer genetic material.

It’s a beautiful reminder that even in the quietest corners of our backyards, life is finding a way to begin anew. 🌿✨
